GWR 2-8-2T No 7228, a class 72xx locomotive, is seen standing coaled and watered ready for another day's service in June 1937. Rebuilt at Swindon works in December 1935 from No 5263, a 2-8-0T 42xx class locomotive, No 7228 remained in service until July 1963 when it was withdrawn from Barry shed to be scrapped in March 1964 by R Hayes of Bridgend.
