GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Warwick Station: gwrw378a
Close up of image "gwrw378" showing Cape Yard sidings which
is full of both oil and mineral wagons whilst the six-ton crane is still
evident circa 1956. The unidentified Prairie appears to be making up a train
utilising the guards van which is seen with the guard looking towards the
photographer. The compound like structure is made up of upright sleepers partly
buried in the ground with a two door gate at the other end. It would appear
from other images that this was used to store a much smaller size coal cobble,
indeed it might be anthracite or similar with a higher monetary value.
