GWR Route: Banbury to Wolverhampton
Warwick Station: gwrw395a
Close up of 'gwrw395' showing a GWR horse box stabled on one
of the two sidings located adjacent to the bridge over Coventry Road. The
double slip, which was installed in 1895 to replace a wagon turntable, was
operated manually by the two levers seen just beyond the ground signal. The
loading gauge - seen on the right - was required to check that any loads, such
as horse drawn vehicles or other large goods, placed on an open wagon could be
moved by rail without fouling lineside structures.
