Wood End Platform: gwrwe2842

A 1972 view of the down platform building now showing years of neglect by British Railways. Above the door is what appears to be a hook shaped bracket with a chain or rope attached. The lack of any obvious lighting might indicate that it was used to suspend Tilley lamp or similar. Such rudimentary lighting was evident at the next station down the line at Danzey for Tanworth (see image 'gwrdt2834' and 'gwrdt2835').
