Whitlocks End Halt: gwrwe667

Ex-GWR 4-6-0 Grange class No 6870 'Bodicote Grange' is seen passing through Whitlocks End Halt on an up freight service on 30th August 1964. Built at Swindon in March 1939 No 6870 was the 71st member of the class which had been commissioned only some 31 months previously. remaining in service until September 1965 when it was withdrawn from Oxley shed in Wolverhampton No 6870 was scrapped in January 1966 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
