GWR Route: Hatton to Stratford on Avon

Ex-GWR 0-6-0 2251 class No 3217 is seen passing under Station Road bridge on the 8:43am Stratford upon Avon to Leamington Spa local passenger service. Behind the tender is a former London North Eastern Railway Gresley coach which was a rare sight on GWR metals around Warwickshire. Built at Swindon works to Lot 360 in December 1947 No 3217 was to remain in service until November 1964 when it was withdrawn from 84D Leamington Spa shed to be scrapped during December 1964 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
