Close up of image 'gwrwil654' showing the simple station structure on the platform and the open and covered wagons in the goods yard behind. The single storey two-room platform building would have consisted of a booking office and waiting room with both warmed by a coal fire. Despite it being a simple station without much passenger traffic between Hatton and Stratford upon Avon the photographer has captured two members of staff. This is probably because the station would have also been responsible for handling the paperwork associated with the Blue Lias Lime and Cement Works to the north of the station. In the goods yard can be seen two of the very distinctive covered wagons with their peaked roofs associated with this kind of traffic, these are stabled on the shorter siding which was in many respects the headshunt for the loop line which ran towards and past the Lime and Cement Works.
