This view shows the once rural area had by the 1930s been developed with large houses on the road behind the station which were once open fields. The station sign reads 'Yardley Wood Platform' demonstrating that not all GWR stations described as Platforms had basic station facilities. The original bridge, a hump back bridge, has been replaced a steel girder bridge alongside of which appears to be a services bridge for carrying water, drainage etc over the railway.
