LNER Route: Leicester to Marylebone

Braunston & Willoughby: gcrbw4

Ex-Great Central 4-4-2 Class C4/2 No 5362 passes Braunston & Willoughby on a down express circa 1928. The express must be a through working as the train is made up of entirely Great Western Railway coaching stock. Built in June 1906 as Great Central No 362 by Gorton works, No 5362 was renumbered by the LNER in 1946 as No 2924 and was allocated No 62924 by British Railways but was withdrawn in January 1948 from Boston shed before the number could be applied.
