Looking south along the A45 (London Road) towards Braunston & Willoughby's double span girder bridge (No 468) which carried the railway over the road and into Braunston & Willoughby Station. The two separate spans were each retained by their own abutment and the space between them seen on the right formed the passenger entrance to the station via a staircase (see image 'gcrbw63'). Two separate spans were required because the twin tracks of the line split on their approach to pass either side of the single island platform.
