Building the last Main Line Railway
Contractor's Builders Yards & Locomotives:
gcrcs120
A number of mineral wagons, some belonging to the Midland
Railway, sit on the temporary rails of a contractor's yard near Willoughby,
circa 1897. This yard would have been operated by Thomas Oliver & Son, the
firm responsible for building this section of the GC's Main Line (Contract
No.4, Rugby to Woodford).
