Building the last Main Line Railway
Flecknoe, Willoughby and Staverton: gcrcs133
View of Willoughby Viaduct after it had been completed and
with embankments being near complete on either side. This handsome 13 arch
structure (bridge No. 471) - the majority of which lay in Warwickshire with the
northern end in Northamptonshire - carried the London Extension across the
River Leam. It was built by T Oliver & Son, the firm responsible for
Contract No 4 (Rugby to Woodford).
