LNER Route: Leicester to Marylebone
Rugby Central Station: gcrcs221
A Class 104 DMU set, having arrived from Nottingham, travels
forward a short distance before reversing into the down platform. Although the
lines appear to continue into the distance they were truncated at Rugby. The
Class 104 Diesel Multiple Units were built by Birmingham Railway Carriage and
Wagon Company from 1957 to 1959 with the first units being ordered for the
London Midland Region. The majority of the class were however used in North
West of England with sets also in Tyneside.
