The structure was partially open to the elements at the entrance being well ventilated through the absence of doors or heating during the winter months. The Great Central, in common with most if not all railway companies throughout Great Britain, provided only basic facilities within which were located urinals and water closets. The ladies were always provided with much better facilities which mostly were accessed from within the Ladies Waiting Room.
