Ex-LNER V2 2-6-2 No 60925 is seen attaching a second brake van to the rear of a coal train on Thursday 3rd August 1961. The reason for this manoeuvre was because two coal trains, hauled by British Railways Standard Class 9F 2-10-0 No 92090 and class mate No 92068, had been combined at Rugby Central. In all probability this was to reduce the two paths that would otherwise be required to one, which at peak times, could assist in moving traffic efficiently. Built in December 1941 as LNER No 4896 by Darlington works it was renumbered in 1946 as LNER No 825, which was never applied, and again later in December of the same year as No 925, before finally being renumbered by British Railways in March 1948 which it carried until May 1964 when it was withdrawn from 50A York North shed to be scrapped by Swindon works.
