GCR 0-6-0 Class 9J No 233 is seen standing taking on water whilst at the head of an up goods train in 1920. Built at Gorton works in May 1904, No 233 was renumbered by the LNER following grouping as No 5233 and then in 1946 as No 4363. Finally renumbered by British Railways as No 64363 the locomotive remained in service until February 1961 when it was withdrawn from 9G Gorton shed.
