British Railways guard John Magee, working his last week at Rugby Central station, receives a Leicester Mercury news packet on 10th August 1966 from fellow guard John Best. This type of packet was carried daily by a train from Rugby. His retirement was probably linked to the closure of the line which resulted in many railwaymen being made redundant.
