View of the packaged meal service on Platform 7 which was an alternative to dining in the restaurant car in the 1960s. The carton packaging had the inscription 'A packed meal made at the Principal Railway Refreshment Rooms'. Behind the stand is one of the stations illuminated 'fingerboards' used to help passengers to find their connection. The 'fingerboard' was changed for each service with the one on display showing the next service to call at platform 7 was the express to Paddington calling at Leamington and Banbury. In the rack at the foot of the column are many others including one for Stratford upon Avon, Gloucester and Cheltenham and another for Henley in Arden. This was a useful feature as the main through platforms had different platform numbers for each end of the station.
