Keith Turton's History of Warwickshire's Industrial Railways, Sidings and Private Owner Wagons

Birmingham Co-operative Society: misc_kt393

Wagon No 13 built by the Gloucester RC&WCo in 1901 and lettered for the then Industrial Co-operative Society

The first of six wagons (No 13 to No 18) built by the Gloucester RC&WCo in 1901 and lettered for the then Industrial Co-operative Society. Despite the Midland Railway's attitude towards their employees who formed the Society, they were registered with that railway. Although they do not appear to have carried coal for the Society, at least their first journey was on the Midland from the wagon builders premises in Gloucester. The livery was a Black body with White lettering.
