Ex-LNWR 0-6-2T 'Coal Tank' No 27638 stands stored in line adjacent to the coal stacks on 3rd March 1935. Built as LNWR No 2483 at Crewe works in March 1883 No 27638 was to remain in service for only another year being it was withdrawn from service in July 1936 to be scrapped by Crewe works.
