This drawing shows the original layout of the 1838 station and the black lines indicate the internal divisions of the structure. Whilst now divided to provide accommodation for the Station Master and Inspector the division adds weight to the theory that the design was structured to allow first class passengers access to the terrace separately to second and third class passengers.
