LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton

Looking towards Curzon Street with the former Wolsey Company's motor works seen on the right on 5th June 1961. The tall down starting signals are fitted with co-acting arms at a lower level for better sighting for the drivers. From a distance the top arms would be visible over Bordesley Green Road bridge to drivers approaching from the Coventry direction whilst the lower co-acting arms would be better seen by drivers on locomotives standing at the down platform.
