LMS 4-6-0 Royal Scot class No 6111 'Royal Fusilier' is seen at the head of the down 'Mid-day Scot' with a train of ex-LNWR and early LMS coaching stock near Atherstone in May 1928. Built by the North British Locomotive Company in October 1927 No 6111 remained in service for thirty-six years being withdrawn in October 1963 from Annesley shed to be scrapped during November 1963 by Crewe works.
