Another but later view of Baddesley Colliery showing the
mine's extensive buildings and Midland Railway open wagons in the sidings in
front of the engine shed circa 1920. The Colliery had a connection with both
the Midland Railway via its Hall End branch which left the Whitacre Junction to
Burton-on-Trent line near Kingsbury and the LNWR. The latter originally being a
narrow gauge tramway first installed in 1850 but later replaced with a standard
gauge line when a new pit was sunk in the area.
