LMS Route: Rugby to Tamworth

Ex-LMS 7P 4-6-0 'Rebuilt Royal Scot' class No 46160 'Queen Victoria's Rifleman' is seen without a breath of steam at her chimney whilst at the head of a down express circa 1956. Built as LMS No 6160 at Derby works in August 1930 by Fowler with large parallel boiler No 46160 was rebuilt with tapered boiler to the form seen above and remained in service until May 1965 when it was withdrawn from Kingmoor shed at Carlisle to be scrapped in July 1965 by the Motherwell Machinery & Scrap Company of Inshaw Works.
