LMS 4-6-2 Streamlined Princess Coronation class No 6247 'City of Liverpool' is seen at the head of a fourteen-coach down express service in 1946. Built at Crewe works in September 1943 No 6247 had her streamlining removed post-war and as such remained in service until May 1963 when it was withdrawn from Kingmoor shed in Carlisle to be scrapped in July 1963 by Crewe works.
