LMS 4-6-2 Princess Coronation class No 6226 'Duchess of
Norfolk' is seen in grimy condition at the head of an up express service to
Euston circa 1947. Built at Crewe works in May 1938 No 6226 remained in service
until September 1964 when it was withdrawn from Upperby shed in Carlisle to be
scrapped in February 1965 by Arnott & Young - West of Scotland Shipbreaking
Company in Troon.
