LMS Route: Rugby to Tamworth

Trent Valley Lineside - Gypsy Lane: lnwr_gyp1151

LMS 6P 4-6-0 Royal Scot class No 6164 'The Artist's Riflemen' is seen passing under Gypsy Lane road bridge at the head of an up express circa 1932. Built at Derby works in September 1930 No 6164 was later rebuilt with a 2A tapered boiler and remained in service until December 1962 when it was withdrawn from Darnall shed in Sheffield to be scrapped during March 1963 by Crewe works after being in store at Staveley Barrow Hill shed from January 1963.
