LMS 6P 4-6-0 Royal Scot class No 6017 'Argyll and Sutherland
Highlander' passes over Newbold Troughs without picking up water whilst on a
down express in August 1937. Built by the North British Locomotive Company in
September 1927 No 6017 was rebuilt with tapered boiler after the Second World
War and in this form remained in service until December 1962 when it was
withdrawn from Polmadie shed in Glasgow to be scrapped during May 1964 by J
McWilliam & Sons of Shettleston.
