LMS Route: Rugby to Tamworth

LMS 5MT 4-6-0 'Stanier Black 5' No 5349 is seen on a down
express with steam escaping from its live injector as it passes in front of
Newbold Trough's water tower in August 1937. Built by the Armstrong Whitworth
Company in May 1937 No 5349 remained in service until November 1967 when it was
withdrawn from Crewe South shed to be scrapped in March 1968 by J Cashmore of
Great Bridge.
