LMS 5MT 4-6-0 'Stanier Black 5' No 5313 is seen at the head of an up express as it picks up water near Newbold Troughs in August 1937. Built by the Armstrong Whitworth Company in February 1937 No 5313 remained in service until February 1965 when it was withdrawn from Springs Branch shed in Wigan to be scrapped during March 1965 by the Central Wagon Company of Ince near Wigan.
