Ex-LMS 6P 4-6-0 Jubilee class No 45571 'South Africa' is seen passing under Parkfield Road bridge on the down Euston to Blackpool and Barrow express service on 26th June 1960. Built by the North British Locomotive Company in September 1934 No 45571 remained in service until May 1964 when it was withdrawn from Speke Junction shed in Liverpool to be scrapped during October 1964 by Connells of Union Works in Coatbridge.
