LMS 5XP 4-6-0 Patriot class No 5511 'Isle of Man' is seen
approaching Newbold Troughs whilst at the head of an up express in August 1937.
Rebuilt from a LNWR Claughton class locomotive by Crewe works in August 1932,
No 5511 was involved in a train crash at Kings Langley on 13th March 1935 when
it ran into the wreckage of trains involving No 1165 and No 5946. Following
repairs No 5511 remained in service until February 1961 when it was withdrawn
from Upperby shed in Carlisle to be scrapped in March 1961 by Crewe works.
