LMS Route: Rugby to Tamworth
Trent Valley Lineside - Newbold on Avon: lnwr_nupa1202
View of a crossover junction, signal gantry and signal box
on the Trent Valley line north of Rugby station circa 1933. The Trent Valley
line was built to provide a short cut and to avoid Birmingham for trains to and
from the North West and Scotland. This view of the signal gantry with lower
quadrant up and two home signals shows that both the slow and fast lines are
cleared for traffic. The individual signals controlling the down slow and fast
lines located adjacent to the signal box, of timber construction, are also
cleared for traffic. C1933
