LMS 3P 'Stanier' 2-6-2T No 203 is seen moving at speed at
the head of a three-coach local passenger service from Coventry to Leamington
circa 1946. Built at Derby works in February 1938, No 203 remained in service
until July 1962 when it was withdrawn from Kentish Town shed in London to be
scrapped by Horwich Works in January 1963. John Dews writes, 'this engine was
one of a few Stanier 2-6-2Ts reboilered with the larger 6B boiler in an attempt
to improve performance and in this case No 203 was rebuilt in 1942.'
