Shilton Station: lnwr_shil1113

LNWR 4-4-0 George Fifth class No 1472 'Moor Hen' is seen at the head of a four-coach up express service as it passes through Shilton station circa 1919-23. On the running plate is a steam heater feeding steam from the smokebox in to the injectors. Built at Crewe in September 1911 No 1472 was renumbered by the LMS in July 1927 as No 5371 and then later as No 25371 remaining in service until September 1939 when it was withdrawn to be scrapped by Crewe works.
