LNWR 2-4-0 Improved Precedent No 193 'Rocket' pilots LNWR 4-4-0 George V Class No 2086 'Phaeton' on a Euston to Liverpool express. The Improved Precedent was built at Crewe works in March 1897 and after being absorbed by the LMS was renumbered as No 5072 which it carried when withdrawn from service in January 1926. The George V class locomotive was built by Crewe works in April 1913 and it too was renumbered by the LMS, as No 5394 which it carried until withdrawn in July 1936.
