LMS Route: Trent Valley Line
Shilton Station: lnwr_shil2394
Layout of Shilton station as seen in 1910 showing the final
configuration of the platforms and through lines. The weighbridge and office
can be seen as are the the two landings, one for road vehicles on the left and
the other for livestock as indicated by the fencing. Shilton is now controlled
by two signal cabins, No 1 can be seen adjacent to the up line on the right.
The other signal cabin, No 2, was situated adjacent to the same running line
but some 1029 yards nearer to Nuneaton. The construction of the down loop line
required the LNWR to erect a new waiting shelter for passengers.
