LMS Route: Rugby to Tamworth
Tamworth Station: lnwr_tam1257a
Close up of image 'lnwr_tam1257' showing the platform side
of Livock's main station building and an assortment of trollies with both
parcels and mail bags. The footbridge for passengers to cross the Trent Valley
line was located alongside the bridge carrying the Midland Railway over the
LNWR line. The growth in popularity of bicycles - the working man's only means
of transport from the early 1900s to the mid 1950s - is confirmed by the
existence of the Cycle Store sign on the right.
This close up shows the end of the station where the steps
rise to the ex-MR High level platforms.
