LMS Route: Rugby to Tamworth
Tamworth Station: lnwr_tam3642
A 1910 photograph showing the LNWR & MR at Tamworth
shared road transport facilities as well at the Goods Depot. In this instance
its not just the traction engine but the trailer too. It was not unusual for
either company to share goods depot facilities with other companies where
appropriate, such as where both had adjacent facilities. The registration mark
of the traction engine is that of Lincoln, where it must have been registered
by the builders, William Foster & Co Ltd, before delivery, a normal
practice at that time. The load on the trailer looks like sheets of cardboard,
presumably being despatched from a local paper mill.
