LMS 4-6-0 Princess Coronation class No 6247 'City of Liverpool' is seen with its streamlining removed whilst at the head of an up express service circa 1947. Built at Crewe works in September 1943 No 6247 remained in service until May 1963 when it was withdrawn from Kingmoor shed in Carlisle to be scrapped in July 1963 by Crewe works.
