Ex-LNWR 0-6-0 18 inch Goods 'Cauliflower' No 8559 is seen standing outside Aston shed on 25th July 1937

Ex-LNWR 0-6-0 18 inch Goods 'Cauliflower' No 8559 is seen with a Belpaire firebox, Ross pop safety valves, LMS lampirons, painted number on its cab side and the letters LMS on its tender on 25th July 1937. The locomotive is seen standing in Aston Shed's yard with the front of the shed in the background. The tender of a similar engine is on the to the left whilst the Ash plant and concrete coal plant is to be seen on the left in the background. Built as LNWR No 458 at Crewe works in November 1900, it was renumbered by the LMS as No 8559 in September 1927 and again as 28559 in December 1943 to make way for a Stanier 2-8-0 8F locomotive. In September 1950, British Railways renumbered the locomotive as No 58415 which it retained until it was withdrawn from Widnes shed 8D in November 1953.
