Ex-LNWR 4-6-0 Prince of Wales class No 25602 'Bonaventure' poses for the camera after being serviced circa 1936. Built as LNWR No 1452 at Crewe works in October 1911 it was renumbered by the LMS as No 5602 in May 1926 and then later as No 25602 which it carried until it was withdrawn in June 1937 and scrapped shortly afterwards by Crewe works. The number seen above with the extra 20000 added to its original LMS running number was due to it being placed on the duplicate list to make for the new standard Fowler and Stanier locomotives including the Patriot and Jubilee classes.
