LMS Route: Nuneaton to Leamington

Ex-LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 48016 is seen passing through Bedworth on a mixed freight service on 3rd May 1963. Built by Crewe works to Lot 130 in January 1936, No 48016 was one of fifty-one LMS 2-8-0 8F locomotives to be requisitioned by the War Department as WD No 70591. It was renumbered No 48016 by the LMS in October 1949 which it carried until November 1965 when it was withdrawn from 2E Saltley shed to be scrapped by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
