LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton
Berkswell and Balsall Common: lnwrberk2353
A coloured view of the original Berkswell station looking
towards Birmingham with the first up platform on the right. The original up
platform was built using brick to the front and paved stone on top. The
passenger waiting rooms and other facilities were accommodated in a standard
LNWR timber structure manufactured by Crewe works. On the up platform are a
number of milk churns which would be used by local farmers to transport their
milk to Coventry and possibly Leamington. They have been strategically placed
on the platform to be loaded in guard vans on specific local passenger
services.
