Looking south-east towards the junction with the Kenilworth line curving away to the right and to its right, the goods yard. The photograph has been dated to late 1958 or early 1959 by the advert for the Birmingham Hippodrome's production of Robinson Crusoe starring David Whitfield. The coal yard is clearly still being used as evident by the rake of coal wagons in one of the sidings. Station Road level crossing is visible in the in the foreground as is the remains of the lamppost which once lit the pedestrian crossing.
