Ex-LNWR 4P 4-6-2T No 2670 is seen still wearing LNWR livery at the head of a local passenger service prior to be renumbered No 6955 by the LMS circa 1926. Philip Millard writes 'the photograph shows behind the engine a 27ft 0in Covered Truck For Motor Car Traffic D 446. I don't recall seeing another photo showing one of these vans in service. The livery seems somewhat faded but still discernible.' The locomotive was built at Crewe works in February 1911 it remained in service until September 1936 when it was withdrawn from service to be scrapped by Crewe works.
