Birmingham New Street - Southern Approaches: lnwrbhm_sa414
View of the track layout looking South towards the multiple
junctions next to Curzon Street Goods Station which is on the left and Proof
House Junction Signal box on the right. The signal gantry is providing
clearance for trains travelling from both directions with most protecting the
junction ahead. The signal arms pointing the left are for traffic travelling
South whilst the signal arms pointing to the right are controlling trains
travelling into New Street station. The lines on the right are the former
Midland Railway's lines built in the late part of the 19th century as part of
the measures to reduce congestion.
