LMS Route: Rugby to Leamington Spa (Avenue)

View of Birdingbury station looking towards Rugby with the goods yard and its accompanying signal box removed. The station was still used for a further six years before it to closed to traffic. The line was singled to accommodate chalk trains running to Southam Cement Works from Rugby and via reversing at Marton Junction. The loss of this this contract resulted in the line's closure and removal by 1986. The house remains to day as a private dwelling.
