Close up of image 'lnwrbird1334' showing the station building with the booking office on the left, the general waiting room and the station master's house at the far end. The oil lamp has positioned at the junction of the path from the access road to the station and the up platform. The station sign is of LNWR origin and it is unlikely a British Railway station 'totem' was ever provided. The cantilevered window which gave station staff a view of trains approaching from either direction has been partly covered probably to provide some privacy from inquisitive passengers.
